Responsible Play

Keep it light

The Still is meant to be a pleasant diversion. These notes explain what Ethers League is and is not, and how to step away if play stops feeling like fun.

Adults only: 18+

Ethers League is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are younger than that, please close this page. Parents and guardians who share a device may wish to use the content controls built into their browser or operating system.

Social gaming only

Every coin on this site is virtual. There is no real-money wagering, no way to buy coins, and nothing to win that has value outside the game. Coins cannot be transferred, sold, redeemed or exchanged. The Still exists for entertainment purposes only, and results here are no indication of how you would do at real-money gambling.

Taking a break

Even a free game can hold attention longer than intended. A few habits help keep it in proportion:

  • Decide how long you want to play before you start, and stop when that time is up.
  • Step away after a long run of spins, win or lose, and do something that uses your hands or your feet.
  • Play when you are rested and in a good mood, not to escape stress or boredom.
  • Keep other plans for the evening; let the Still fill a gap rather than the whole of it.
  • Remember that the reset button is always there — there is nothing to chase.

Signs it may be time to stop

Consider taking a longer break if you notice that you are playing for much longer than you meant to, feeling irritable when you cannot play, thinking about the game when you would rather be doing something else, or being drawn towards real-money gambling as a result of playing here.

Finding support

If gaming or gambling of any kind is causing worry for you or someone close to you, talking to someone helps. Independent support services, helplines and counsellors exist in many countries, and a local health professional can point you to the right one where you live. Reaching out early is always easier than reaching out late.

You can also write to us through the Support page. We cannot offer counselling, but we are happy to answer questions about how the site works.
